Friday May 22

Jazz in the Garden | National Gallery of Art | Free 5:00 PM

Grab a blanket, food, and friends and head over to the National Portrait Gallery for a free jazz concert. Bags will be checked at the door for cans of beer and other clearly marked liquor. The free concert series features jazz artists performing a wide variety of styles—salsa, blues fusion, xylophone, Afrofunk, and more—every Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:30 in the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. Circus Chalet | Kabin Lounge 1337 Connecticut Avenue NW

Kabin is transformed each and every Friday Night as Circus Chalet. A sideshow S#itShow party featuring dancers, party favors, local talent, and the all mighty Bigfoot! This event is complimentary with a 1 hour Open Bar from 10 – 11pm. RSVP here.

Exhibit: Art Blooms: Satsuki Azalea Bonsai | National Bonsai & Penjing Museum at the National Arboretum| May 22 – June 1, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Head to the National Arboretum for a hike, bike, picnic, or just to see the sights. They also currently have an exhibit with bonsai, miniature in form, but covered with multicolored, full-sized flowers. Late-blooming Satsuki azaleas have been hybridized in Japan for hundreds of years; many of the museum’s azalea bonsai were started from cuttings collected in Japan in the last century. This annual exhibit showcases our most spectacular examples in a formal display. Based on individual bloom times, trees may be on display in the outdoor pavilions before and after the week-long indoor exhibit. It is of course free.

Memorial Day Weekend Rooftop Pool Party | The Embassy Row Hotel, 2015 Massachusetts Avenue NW  12 PM

Kick off Memorial Day Weekend with an epic rooftop pool party at The Embassy Row Hotel, hosted by HOT 99.5Take the elevator to the roof where you’ll hang out with DJ Toby Knapp (12pm-3pm) and DJ Elizabethanny (3pm-6pm) as HOT 99.5 broadcasts live. Sip on delicious summery drinks and take in the gorgeous panoramic views of the city.
Summer-in-your-mouth cocktails and bikini flattering food will be available for purchase.

Sunday Yoga Class | The Bike Rack | FREE 6:00 PM- 7:00 PM

The Bike Rack is offering a one hour Yoga Class on Sunday evening at 6:00. Our licensed instructors will lead you through an hour of Vinyassa Flow with the sequence and intensity of the class adjusted to the personal experience of each individual student.
Registration is not required to attend however, it does help us to know how many people to expect. Our classes are donation based, with a suggested donation of $5.00. Grab your yoga mat and join us, if you do not have a yoga mat, we have a few extras. We look forward to seeing you here!

National Memorial Day Concert | West Lawn of the U.S Capitol on 1st Street, Washington, D.C. | FREE  The National Memorial Day concert in Washington DC features a mix of dramatic readings, documentary footage and live musical performances, along with an all-star line-up of dignitaries, actors, and musical artists.  The FREE annual event is held on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol Building and kicks off the summer season in the nation’s capital.

Memorial Day Pink & White Party |W Hotel POV Rooftop | $10 7:00 PM This party is an invitation-only, ticket-only event. Admittance is by guest list ONLY. No walk-in admission. No refunds.Tickets are $10 each and must be purchased through Eventbrite. Tickets include one (1) raffle ticket for the chance to win a stay at the W Hotel! A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All guests must be at least 21 years of age to attend the event and present a valid U.S. ID for event entry.

Drinks & Swimming | Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel | Free after 5:00 PM

Take a break from the hustle-and-bustle of the DC scene to soak up some rays in style and comfort. 

After a long day of sightseeing, meetings, or lobbying on the Hill, head up to the roof and enjoy a weekday Happy Hour Monday-Friday from 5-7:30pm. Non hotel guests can head up to the pool for free after 5pm.
