Did you know there are things to do this weekend at MGM National Harbor that don’t involve sleight of hand tricks or losing money at the slot machines?

Based roughly 23 minutes outside of Washington, D.C. in Oxon Hill, MD– the massive compound is brimming with modern art, luxury shopping, celebrity-chef directed restaurants, world-class shows, spa treatments, a heated pool (!), and over 300 hotel rooms.

The next time you’re looking for long weekend plans, make your way to National Harbor. Once there you’ll spend your day shopping, exploring the harbor, or hitching a ride on the Capital Wheel.

Night owls have found their home here too; as the resort is open and pouring drinks 24-hours a day.

Whatever you’re into, we’ve covered everything to do at the acclaimed corners of MGM National Harbor.

Food & Drink

Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse

At MGM, your food options are endless. For something upscale, grab dinner at the Voltaggio Brothers Steakhouse, the brainchild of two former Top Chef contestants and real-life brothers.

Enjoy a mouthwatering filet mignon or Maine lobster with blue crab imperial.

Then order up a cocktail to pair with your dinner. The steakhouse offers a refreshing take on a Cosmo and the Queen’s Park Swizzle, the precursor to the mojito. Food is served in the middle of the table. And the walls are decorated with pictures of the owners as children.

Felt Bar

In addition to the many restaurants, MGM is also home to several bars and lounges. Each feature a unique atmosphere and expansive drink selection. Perhaps most notable is Felt, a bar and lounge that combines “imaginative” mixology with a vibrant atmosphere.

Unique drinks are one of the biggest draws to Felt, as it features a constantly-changing, seasonal cocktail menu. Try one of their signature, tableside punch bowls, complete with witty names.

“The Answer is Yes! (What’s the Question?)”, for example, is made with champagne, strawberry-infused pisco, cointreau, lemons, limes, and strawberries, and garnished with fresh mint.

Located conveniently next to the casino, Felt can provide an intimate venue for a private event or an exciting atmosphere for a fun night of dancing and mingling.

On Saturday nights, DJs take over Felt from 10pm until close. Attire at Felt is a notch above casual, so expect to look your best while dancing the night away.

See a Show

Seeing a live comedy show or a musical event could be the perfect way to spend a weekend night.

The Theater at MGM National Harbor seats approximately 3,000 people and has already hosted events like the Miss World Pageant, comedy shows, and several concerts featuring The Who, Mary J Blige, Cher and more. For a luxury experience, reserve a VIP suite and enjoy food and beverage service while being entertained.

Check out the upcoming events page to keep up to date on what shows are coming to the theater next.

Ok, Play One Hand of Blackjack

Any trip to MGM National Harbor wouldn’t be complete without at least a quick trip to the casino.

Whether you’re a veteran poker player, or a first timer testing your luck on the slot machines, the MGM casino is full of the energy needed for stellar night.
